“Oh No, What is Nicki Minaj Wearing?”

“Um, she looks amazing” is definitely not what you would usually hear people say about Young Money’s hottest female rapper Nicki Minaj. You would probably hear “Woah, she looks outrageous.” Despite how outrageous you may think Nicki Minaj looks, you have to admit that whatever she has on, crazy pants, various hair colors, she wears it well and looks amazing. Besides isn’t that what fashion is all about? Standing out from the norm and getting as creative and freakishly stylish as you possibly can. If so, Nicki Minaj does it well.

I must admit I was never a big fan of Nicki Minaj, but she stole my attention and eventually my heart with her unique lyrics and fashion statements.

This South side Jamaica,Queens Rapper Nicki Minaj continues to win the support of fans worldwide since the release of her first single “Massive Attack” and her BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Since then Nicki Minaj has collaborated with some of the music industry hottest artists, like Rihanna, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Diddy, etc, just to name a few.

I will definitely remember the spontaneous moments me and my roommates had blasting her album “Pink Friday” and pretending to be Barbie’s with our Pink Friday lipstick on and diva attitudes. Nicki Minaj is definitely doing her thing in the music industry, Kudos to her.

Yay, it’s me.

Hold all your applause, as I take my bow (LOL). Just a little bit humor for my fashionable dedicated readers.

 I know it’s been a while, and I’m not going to give you guys any “B.S” excuses as to why I’ve totally neglected my blog this summer. But never the less, i’m back and hope you’re all ready for what I have in stores for you. So definitely stay tune because I have a lot to bring to you guys, that no other bloggers can offer.

Anywho i’m sure you want to know what i’ve been up to all summer that was so exciting that caused me to forget about my blog. Well here it go, time for me to spill the details.

Being that i’m finally 21, can you scream “LEGAL”. *Woot Woot* I decided that I was going to enjoy my summer to it’s fullest until I can’t enjoy it anymore. Despite my trip to Italy being cancelled. I still made the best out of it. I had a blast working as a Group Leader at a summer camp, flirted, danced, sang, partied like a rock star, and enjoyed time with my family and friends. It might sound simple but it was the most rewarding experience and time spent with people I cared about and my new found friendships.

 It was definitely the start of many new and exciting things to come in my life. I will definitely continue to have fun and blog about it, so you guys can stay updated. Oh! not to mention, I will definitely do it with style :-). Hey, after all life is all about having fun and enjoying every moment of it. So have fun, eat lots of chocolate, shop, and live life until you can’t live it anymore. It’s only right.

Livin” Loud

 Spontaneous and totally pop, you can almost hear i-D The Livin’ Loud issue making sounds just by looking at the cover, popping with color and life. My attention was brought to this lively issue after reading one of my favorite fashionista’s Chanel Iman blog and seeing this eye-shocking yet fashion forward image.

So it’s only right that I become a new fan of i-D.

If you go to Saint Peter’s College or if you live in Jersey City, then there’s no reason at all for you not to know who or what iLLspire is.

It’s the next big things for our generation. I’m talking fashion, music, entertainment, talent and more.  iLLspire inspires us all to live ‘iller, stay cool, live fresh  and be ill.

American Society of Magazine Editors Announced

Yes, the 2011 National Magazine Awards  finalists were officially announced  this morning and of course Conde Nast stole the spotlight leading with 25 nominations, if that not amazing then I don’t know what is. Other runner ups were Time, Inc with nine and Hearst with six. Over 200 magazines submitted 1,673 entries, judged by 359 magazine journalists and journalism educators. All the winners will be revealed for the first-time during a dinner ceremony hosted by ASME on May 9.  So stayed tune fans.

NEW SEASON, REVAMPED CLOSET=SPRING!

Yep, it’s definitely that time to transitions from flurries to april showers and beyond ladies and gents because Spring is offcially here. And i’ve got everything you needs to be ready for this season all in one blog post.

No matter what your style is Spring is the season that requires the most creativity when it comes to your wardrobe.

Let’s start by packing away all those holiday looking sweaters and dark colors and unpacked everyting bright, from dresses to skirts, etc. Then set aside some shopping money, so after you go throught your closet and figure out what your going to keep for the spring you can splurge on new iems to bring those old items into a new light.  Along with your clothing don’t forget to check out your shoes and accessories as well. It always great to mix winter and summer shoes to make up your spring shoes collection and accessories are always a great way to add to your outfits.

WHAT DOES THIS STAND FOR, LIKE REALLY?

Just in case you’re wondering what the heck I’m talking about. We’ll “duh”, I can only be talking about FASHION. I know myself and many of you out there may think that you know what Fashion is and what it stands for, and maybe you do but hey guess what?

Fashion doesn’t have just one meaning. It indefinable, indescribable, and has more than one meaning. Fashion is whatever you want it to be and it makes you your own person. Fashion defines your individually and style. My favorite line of all time  is “Fashion is not a luxury”, it’s really not. The price of your clothing doesn’t define what fashion is and it sure doesn’t define you or your style.

Google His Outfit….!

Yes, I finally caught up with one of the most fashionable and hottest guy on campus Malcolm Alexander and have the scoop for you guys and if you love what you see, you can definitely “Google his outfit”. Okay, I’ll admit I swiped my title from Malcolm’s debut song “Google my outfit”. I got to sit down and chat with this chic, funny and versatile trendsetter from Brooklyn, who also goes by the name “Alexander Esquire (his alter ego stage name)” and I must say I was amused by his originality, uniqueness and creativity.

Would you consider yourself unique?

Malcolm: I would consider myself open and versatile. People could never grasp me from just looking.

What is your fashion style?

Malcolm: I don’t like to have one way of dressing. I like to switch it up. But my style is definitely preppy, creative, raw and rugged.

What are your favorite stores to shop?

Malcolm: Louis Vuitton, Brooklyn Circus, the Wagon Boutique and Thrift Shops. Thrift stores are my favorite because there is a wide variety to choose from that I can mix and match, you can get a scarf and turn it into an ascot.

Two Fabulous Causes in One Day

It’s not common for a Jesuit Institution to have an AIDS test on campus due to their beliefs in abstinence but today the SPC community came out to show support and get tested at a Rapid Aids Testing Event sponsored by the Criminal Justice Department to celebrate black history month. And tonight the SPC Community will be stepping out full “pink” style in support of the Pink Zone Event in the RLC 7:00pm, featuring a game by the SPC Women’s Basketball game and a taste testing of white castle burgers and fries in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. So if you are on campus tonight don’t forget to check out the event and don’t forget to rock you pink zone t-shirts if you do go.

HIV/AIDS and Cancer are two of the biggest and most supported causes in the fashion world. Many designers, fashion companies and fashion icons are taking major steps towards becoming activists for the awareness of HIV/AIDS and Cancer such Designer Betsey Johnson, who is a breast cancer survivor, and has support numerous of cancer charities and foundation across the countries. And not to mention retailer H&M will be launching a Fashion Against AIDS 2011 unisex to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS amongst America’s youth. 25% of sales from the collection will be donated to different HIV/AIDS prevention projects around the world.
